OUR STORY
The first bus is purchased with 25 seats and 8 standing places. At that time, the bus was still equipped with solid rubber wheels.
In 1922, C.P. Oostenrijk established the first bus service in Diemen. With a few old buses, he started a line service from Diemerbrug to the Amstelhotel and Pretoriusstraat.
On March 1, 1923, C.P. Oostenrijk established the Autobus Onderneming Oostenrijk NV at notary Dilleman in IJmuiden.
The first regular services between Amsterdam, Weesperkarspel, Weesp, Nederhorst den Berg, and Muiden are operated.
Oostenrijk begins to provide transportation for many groups to and from the Keukenhof. The famous flower park located northwest of Lisse already attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world in the early ’80s.
On November 1, 1984, Austria takes over the Almere-based bus company BOKA.
As the first company in the world, Austria Touringcars introduces the extended double-decker coach. This unique Volvo coach is a whopping 18 meters long and seats 107 passengers.
Three generations of the Staal family have been steering tour buses across Europe. The 75th anniversary is celebrated with a reception for relations and a grand party for the staff.
About a 100 years later, on September 6th, 2023, we received the royal predicate from the Dutch royal family, a significant recognition of our service and contribution.
